Born in 1992 in Southern Germany, Jaz grew up in a family that frequently moved – an experience that deeply influenced her understanding of home and identity. For her, home isn’t just a physical place but an emotional safe space rooted in relationships and connections rather than geography. This constant movement and change fostered a deep curiosity about the unfamiliar—both the external world and the inner landscapes of the self, which still influences her work as an artist.

As a young adult, Jaz spent most of her years living in the metropolitan Basel, where she was surrounded by diverse cultural influences that shaped her artistic vision. After graduating, she moved to London and later pursued studies in education of arts and mathematics in Stuttgart. These disciplines allowed her to blend creativity with analytical thinking. After working in Cardiff for a few months, she completed her master of education with her thesis about aesthetic exploration in arts. Since 2020, Jaz is based in Vienna, where she currently lives and works.

Her work as an artist is about the communication and effect between the artwork and the viewer. The motives are inspired by social-political conditions, subconscious state of minds and emotional-analytical processes. Her artworks can be seen as impulses to explore different perspectives of reality and ambiguous dialogues with the artwork, oneself and the environment. Jaz usually paints with acrylic paint and print techniques. Most of her artworks include mixed techniques with spray cans, print and collage which have been shown in various individual and collective exhibitions since 2015. Furthermore, Jaz is part of the Phloom Art Collective where she has been working on several projects that include audiovisual plays, collage works, installations and performances.
