In Mind Labyrinths, three contemporary artists invite viewers into deeply personal and multi-layered inner worlds – spaces of emotion, memory, transformation, and self-reflection.

Maya Salamatova explores the transient nature of identity and thought. Her expressive brushwork and blurred contours reflect a world in constant flux, where human emotion takes center stage. With a background in abstract and figurative painting, her current focus on portraiture brings a visceral intimacy to the exhibition. Her figures emerge from colour and form like thoughts in motion – questioning, dissolving, reappearing. Her work asks what it means to be present in a world of perpetual transformation.

Daria Grechaninova (DARÖNA) transforms lived experience into visual language. Her work functions like a personal diary or emotional newspaper, capturing raw moments with vibrancy and honesty. Through a multimedia practice that spans painting, animation, and sculpture, she addresses themes such as femininity, body awareness, sexuality, violence, and war. Drawing on Renaissance techniques and Slavic folklore, her works oscillate between softness and confrontation – a negotiation between beauty and trauma, light and darkness.

Theresa Gregor, with her background in scenography and painting, bridges theatre and visual art. Her swan motifs embody metamorphosis and silent drama, floating in dreamlike compositions structured by patterns and stage-like geometries. For Gregor, painting becomes a form of extended performance – a still moment between narrative and abstraction. Her poetic spaces blur the lines between figure and setting, inviting viewers into a symbolic world where transformation is always underway.

Together, the works in Mind Labyrinths offer a kaleidoscopic exploration of the inner self – not as a fixed identity, but as a space of ongoing dialogue. Each artist leads us through her own labyrinth, where personal stories intersect with universal themes of change, survival, and renewal.
